St Luke’s Hospital in Dublin has begun treatment of prostate cancer with ASBRT (Augmented Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy) and the Raypilot System, with the first patients now treated. This is stated in a press release from Micropos Medical. The clinic is evaluating the technology under a rental agreement for the Raypilot System with the aim of introducing ASBRT as the standard treatment for prostate cancer at the clinic."With the Raypilot System, we see exactly where we are irradiating. Being able to deliver the dose to the right place at the right time gives us confidence in the treatment. But above all, this means that our patients can now benefit from a safe, modern and effective treatment method with a lower risk of side effects," says Dr Alex Boychak, the radiation oncologist in charge at the clinic in Dublin.
